..or is this funny? ;P

The waiter’s reaction.. look at his face and hands! Lol!

A colleague of mine was telling me over lunch yesterday about this book called “Muhajababes“. The title is just screaming for me to read it. She said she went to Virgin when she first got here (last summer) and asked for the book but the guy said: “Shh! We don’t sell that book here.” With some whining and pleading, the guy finally said FINE then went inside somewhere and got her a copy and warned her about telling anyone.

As my aunt says, if she were to publish a book she’d want it to be banned from Kuwait; it’s good publicity!

I’m sure we’ve all heard that green tea can aid in weight loss. Good news is that that’s not a rumor. It actually has some truth to it. According to this article, the advantages of drinking green tea for weight loss are:

.

1. It revs up your metabolism.

2. It inhibits fat absorption and helps glucose regulation.

3. It may reduce appetite.

4. It can help you save calories on your morning brew.

.

The disadvantages of drinking green tea for weight loss are:

.

1. It is not a magic bullet.

2. People with health problems should be cautious about the caffeine.

3. The taste sucks! .

I had chocolate fondue yesterday at Chocolate Bar. I know I’m on a diet, but what can I do? My friends and I went to Chocolate Bar, I had no choice! ;P And OMG, it was heavenly! Cookies, bananas, and strawberries dipped in warm melted milk chocolate. How can anyone possibly resist? And as they say: Forget love, i’d rather fall in chocolate!!

There’s a secret path I follow to a place no one can find, where I meet my perfect someone I’ve kept hidden in my mind. Where my heart makes my decisions ’till my dream becomes a vision and the love I feel makes him real someday. ‘Cause I know he’s out there somewhere just beyond my reach. Though I’ve never really touched him or ever heard him speak. Though we’ve never been together, we’ve never been apart. No we’ve never met, haven’t found him yet, but I know him by heart.

Am I living in an illusion, wanting something I can’t see? If I compromise I’d be living lies pretending love’s not meant to be. ‘Cause I know my heart’s worth saving and I know that he’ll be waiting, so I’ll hold on and I’ll stay strong ’till then. ‘Cause I know he’s out there somewhere just beyond my reach. Though I’ve never really touched him or ever heard him speak. Though we’ve never been together, we’ve never been apart. No we’ve never met, haven’t found him yet, but I know him by heart. No we’ve never met, haven’t found him yet, but I know him by heart.

Update: Unfortunetly this is not my writing; it’s an actual song. Sorry for the confusion, hehe.

Haven’t you noticed how 99.9% of the sales people in the female section of all women shops have become guys? Lebanese guys to be precise. Why Lebanese guys you may ask? Well, they are only the BIGGEST flirts ever! They flirt a little here, shower you with compliments there, how everything seems to “yilba2lik” (suits you), your confidence level increases, and you end up buying stuff. Am not saying this works with everyone (cuz it doesn’t work with me), but apparently it has proven to be effective. And they are all a bunch of young, not-bad-looking guys. It’s a marketing strategy. Why else would they have all these men in the women’s section? They seem to be attracting the ladies and I guess sales rates have increased as a result. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but it feels uncomfortable having a guy checking you out and hitting on you while you’re in the midst of shopping.

There’s a bright side to this tho. Haven’t you noticed how sometimes women tend to treat men nicer than they treat other women, and men tend to treat women nicer than men? Well that works in this case also. The other day I was with my friend of mine in one of the shops in Avenues. We were walking around selecting clothes to try on. I had a lot so I wanted a basket or something, but I didn’t see any of the customers holding baskets. So I asked my friend if she thinks there are any baskets around, and she said that she asked a lady (the only lady sales person there apparently) and she said they don’t have any. I was like, I need a basket! So there was this sales guy so I said: I need a basket plz, and he was like “tikraaaaam 3ainik!” and rushes to the back of the cashier counter and gets me a basket. And I was like thank you and walked away, so he follows me, tries to start a conversation by cracking a joke, and asks me what am looking for and if I needed help. I was like no thanks am fine. He walks away and comes back and asks me if he could help. I said no again and then he says “3afwan, demoiselle shoo?” and I gave him my first name and he introduces himself and says he’ll be over there *pointing somewhere* if I needed anything. He was soo excited for some reason and wanted to stick around. I think that if I had asked him to carry my stuff around for me as I continued looking at more clothes he wouldn’t have said no. He left and came back yet again. I don’t like 7anna (nagging) while shopping. But anyway, I told my friend that if she ever wanted anything, she should always ask the guys. ;P

So, did you know that black eyes are the rarest eye color in the world? Well, I guess black black eyes don’t exist, but by black I mean the darkest shade of brown which looks like black. I never knew that until that day at the Avenues. Another guy from the cashier at some other store asked me: “i3yoonik sood?” (your eyes are black?), and I was like ya and quickly looked away, then he said: “ibta3rfee ino li3yoon ilsood a7la 3yoon oo kteer jizabeen?” (did you know that black eyes are the most beautiful and very attractive?). And am like oh really, thanks and looked away again. Then: “ibta3rfee ino li3yoon il sood a2alaa shee bil 3alam?” (did you know that black eyes are the least in the world?) And am like aha. Interesting. I was in a hurry and kinda blushing, I know, and in my mind I was like “just gimme my stuff and let me gooo, this is no time to flirt!”

It’s funny how in Kuwait they censor/ban many things but they purposely hire young men to flirt with women in stores in order to increase sales. Maybe I’m not expressing my point clear enuf, but it kinda seems like a contradiction to their cultural norms, don’t you think?

As I mentioned previously, I want to switch to WordPress. Thing is, I’ve been hunting for a template that feels right but I was unsuccessful. One thing you should know about me is that I am not only picky, but I get bored easily and tend to change a lot. I am trying to find THE template that feels right, something simple ‘n pretty, something I won’t get bored of easily. Keyword: Simple. Also color; color is very important.
.
I found something that I’m liking; not loving, just liking. I think it might work tho. I’ll search some more. Hopefully soon I’ll find the template that’s got my name all over it cuz am really fed up with Dots.
.

I found him on Facebook! 9a7ib il9ot il7anoon! :P I finally have a face to go with his voice, hehe. We haven’t spoken in a while cuz well.. our work together is done. I don’t know when our agency will be needing their services again. But I must say, my ‘crush’ has minimized to an ‘ex-crush’. As they say, ili b3eed 3an il 3ain (wil ears in this case), b3eed 3an il galb. ;P

I need to..

08May07

..lose 2 kilos in 2 weeks.
.
Why I waited for the last minute to lose these annoying kilos is typical of me. The camera already puts on some kilos, I don’t want my cheeks to look so big. I have nothing against my cheeks, don’t get me wrong. Its just I don’t want too much cheeks.
.
So anyway, since I finally decided to start my diet today (Yes F, am starting today inshala! ;P Hehe!), I had to cut back on stuff I like to indulge myself in. For example, my very yummy Mocha Nescafe that I mentioned in a previous post. Guys, it’s official! Am hooked! It’s soo rich n’ creammy (with added milk only), and chocolatey, and yummy! Ahem, anyway. I had to delete that from my diet as it contains unwanted calories. So I replaced that with a BOOOOOORING cup of skimmed milk with coffee. I miss my mocha already. :/ But I shall be strong! “Laan wa laaam” 3ala goltich ya F. ;P
.
BTW, F is one of my best friends. She is what I like to call an “invisible blogger”. Did I mention she is the BIGGEST blog addict ever? Why she doesn’t have her own blog or registered nickname you may ask? Well, ask her! I tried to convince her but it was fruitless. I must admit tho, her “invisible” presence is comforting to me. ;P Am gonna call you Casper.
.

I miss you SOO much Casper! Wala 7adi 7adi 7adi walhana 3alaich! I can’t wait to see you soon inshala. And we have to go back to that pancake place! ;Pp

.
So anyhooo, wish me luck all! I’m on a mission to kill those nasty kilos! I shall stab them in the heart! I shall strangle them to death! I shall cut them to pieces and burn them! I shall not be defeated!!
.
I think I’m high on caffiene; am suddenly so jumpy and hyper.

Facebook!

Isn’t it nice when suddenly someone from your childhood such as an old friend, a classmate, or just a random person you once knew who you’ve lost touch with suddenly pops back in your life? Well, if it wasn’t someone annoying or a person you had an ugly past with then wow, that could be fun! What’s not exactly ‘fun’, but rather embarassing, is when that person seems to VIVIDLY remember you and you have NO CLUE! Poof, its like they disappeared from your memory! Not cool. ;/
..

Someone added me on Facebook! who claims to know me. I squeeeezed by brain in hopes of finding even a tinie winie drop of a memory! I went through my mind’s archives a thousand and one times in search of a name, a face, a trace, a vague memory! Nothing! It’s as if I never met this guy! How sad is that? What was more embarassing was when I was like: You weren’t with me ib highskool, wela middle skool, it MUST have been elementary! *ib kil thiqa* And poor him was like nooo, 10th grade! Lol! Apparently we were in the same history class and he says he remembers me cuz I was “soo nice” and I helped him out in class and well, he remembers me as “the girl in the back”, lol. He even says that I used to call out his name and say “Hiii” and that I was “too cute”, lol! Why, why, why don’t I remember any of this?! The thing is, I looked at his profile pic and the guy looks good! How could I forget a face like that so easily? ;P
.
In my defense, he was at my school for just 1 year. Il7imdila he wasn’t offended or anything cuz well, we all forget. I mean, its weird how sometimes there are things that are glued to our memory in vivid details even if they were insignificant and other times we forget stuff we would think we should remember. It’s something beyond our control I guess; that’s just how it is. But anyway, after looking through his photo album I realized that his face is familiar. Oh well, his face being ‘familiar’ is better than nothing.

As I was reading New Bride’s blog yesterday, I came across a post about massages, couple’s massages on the beach, and the issue of weather or not you should allow your husband to be massaged by a female masseuse or not.
.
I’m not married yet, but when I will be then SURE. I’ll let my husband be massaged by a female masseuse, why not? If that’s what he wants, what he prefers, then 3alaih ib aaaaaaaaalf 3afya! :) Considering the setting is a couple’s massage session on the beach on some exotic island, I’ll be on the massage table right next to him.. being smothered with massage oil and massaged with the sexy masculine hands of a straight male masseuse, and ENJOYING every bit of it! Emphasis on “sexy masculine hands” as I seem to have a fetish for hands so I’ll really be enjoying this! ;)
.
Shino, 7alal 3alaih oo 7aram 3alai? It’s either that or we’re both not allowed to be massaged by the opposite sex.

Lately, my favorite water brand is:.

Its taste is very much liked by my tastebuds. It’s kinda sweet and doesn’t have that sharp taste or that thickness. Either that or am just listening to Marina FM way too much.
